Most activations finish in minutes. Here's what to expect for each type, so you know when something has actually gone wrong.
eSIM
Installing the eSIM takes a minute or two, and your line is usually usable straight away.
If you chose a future start date when you activated, your line goes live on that date rather than immediately. That's expected, not a fault.
Transferring your number from another carrier
Number transfers take longer than activation because your old carrier has to release the number.
Most transfers complete within minutes. In some cases it can take up to 24 hours, depending on how quickly your old carrier releases the number.
What to do while you wait
- Keep your old service active. Canceling it stops the transfer.
- Stay on wifi so you can still message and browse.
- Leave your phone on. Some transfers complete without any further action from you.
If it's taking longer than that
Contact Flex Mobile support with your order details. They can check the status of the transfer and tell you whether anything is blocking it.
