Most eSIM capable phones can store several eSIM profiles at once, which is useful for keeping a work line, a personal line, or a travel line on one device. Here's how that works with Flex Mobile.
Stored versus active
Your phone can store several profiles but only use one or two at a time. Storing extra profiles costs nothing and doesn't affect your service. Switching which one is active is a setting, not a reinstall.
Choosing which line does what
With two lines active, your phone asks which to use for calls, for texts and for mobile data. You can set Flex Mobile as your data line and keep another line for incoming calls, or any other combination.
- On iPhone, open Settings, tap Cellular, then use Default Voice Line and Cellular Data to choose.
- On a Samsung: open Settings, tap Connections, tap SIM manager, then under Preferred SIM choose Flex Mobile for calls, messages and mobile data.
- On a Pixel: open Settings, tap Network & internet, tap SIMs, tap the Flex Mobile line, then set Calls, SMS and Mobile data to it.
- Label each line clearly, such as Flex Mobile and Work, so you can tell them apart when your phone asks which to use.
Watch your data line when traveling
If you have a travel eSIM alongside Flex Mobile, make sure the right one is set for data before you land. Leaving the wrong line active is how people get surprise charges from a third party provider.
If your phone says it's full
Phones can hold a limited number of profiles. If yours won't accept another, delete one you no longer use. Only delete a plan you're certain you don't need, since removing it ends that service on the phone.
Flex Mobile and roaming
Flex Mobile roaming covers Canada and Mexico, on the unlimited plans. Anywhere else, a second travel eSIM alongside your Flex Mobile line is the practical option.
