You can move between plans at any time. Moving up and moving down don't work the same way, so it's worth reading this first.
Moving up and moving down are not the same
Moving up to a bigger plan usually happens straight away. You get the bigger allowance immediately, and you pay the difference for the time left in the period you've already paid for. Nothing waits.
Moving down to a smaller plan waits. The smaller plan starts when your current paid period ends. Nothing is refunded, because you keep the plan you paid for until the end of it.
The reason is simple: you can always pay for more, but we don't take away something you've already paid for.
One exception when moving up
On some plans, moving up waits until your next monthly data renewal instead of starting immediately. That's because the new plan builds your data allowance from scratch, and switching in the middle of a month would throw away the data you still have left.
If that applies to your change, you'll see the start date before you confirm.
If you just need more data right now
A data top up is the faster route. It adds data to your current plan, takes effect immediately and doesn't change your plan or your billing at all.
How to change your plan
- Sign in at portal.getflexmobile.com.
- Open the Subscriptions tab.
- Select the line you want to change. Each line has its own plan, so check you've picked the right person.
- Next to Subscription, select Change subscription.
- Choose the plan you want and confirm. Before anything is charged you'll see the amount to pay and the date the new plan starts.
What stays the same
Your phone number, your SIM or eSIM and your account details. You don't reactivate anything and your service isn't interrupted.
What changes
Your data allowance, hotspot, roaming and monthly reward points all move to the new plan, from the moment it starts.You can move between plans. Here's how, and what to think about first.
