Activating your eSIM puts your Flex Mobile service straight onto your phone, with no card to insert. The steps differ slightly by manufacturer, so both of the common paths are below.
Before you start
- Your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM. Check for an EID under Settings, then About phone.
- Your phone is connected to wifi, since your Flex Mobile data isn't live yet.
- You have your eSIM QR code, either in your activation email or in your Flex Mobile account.
- If you can, open the QR code on a second screen so you can scan it with the phone.
On Samsung Galaxy
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap SIM manager.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Tap Scan QR code from service provider.
- Point the camera at your QR code, then tap Add when your phone reads it. Your phone downloads the plan and confirms when it's ready.
- Give the line a name, such as Flex Mobile, and choose it for calls and data.
On Google Pixel
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & internet.
- Tap SIMs, then tap the plus icon next to Add more.
- Tap Download a SIM instead, then tap Next.
- Point the camera at your QR code and follow the prompts. Your phone confirms when the plan is downloaded.
- Tap the Flex Mobile line and turn it on.
On another Android phone
Manufacturers name these screens differently, but the route is the same every time. Open the Settings app, find the section about connections or mobile networks, tap into SIM or SIM manager, then look for Add eSIM or Download a SIM. Choose the option to scan a QR code and point the camera at your code.
If you can't find those screens on your phone, contact Flex Mobile support with the make and model and they can walk you through it.
Confirm it worked
Flex Mobile appears in your SIM list and shows as turned on, and your status bar shows signal bars rather than No Service.
If it doesn't work
Work through the eSIM install troubleshooter, and contact Flex Mobile support if you're still stuck.
